Answers:
well there's some sort of cushoning inside the boxing glove.
Boxing gloves won't do you one bit of harm - it's the punching with them and being punched back that will do the damage!
I have no scientific evidence, but I do know that they are safer if you tape your hands carefully before you put them on. That is important. Otherwise, generations of boxers have used them with almost no reported injuries.
These gloves aren't designed to protect your hands. Their function is to protect your opponent's face & body from the cuts & trauma bare knuckles cause.
The reason why people wear boxing gloves is that they reduce the impact from each blow reducing the chance of a quick knock-out result. However wearing them will significantly increase the risk of causing your opponent brain damage as repeated blows do more harm to the brain than fewer harder bare-knuckle blows.
never mind the hands..what about the head!!
the bigger/heavier the glove the more the protection for your hand and your opponents face/body. if you hit someone bare knuckle you would damage both hand and face. in the ufc they never used to wear gloves, that changed now they wear small gloves, but the KO's went up. only because now they can punch more without hurting their hands, whereas before you would break your hand after a few blows. there is the evidence my SON.
Boxing gloves protect your knuckles when you hit someone in the face, best of all if you're taped up first, I've had a couple of friends get involved in street brawls and ended up breaking their knuckles on someones face
the gloves are more to protect the oponents face from cuts
than to protect the hands

In my opinion, the EVIDENCE is the thousands of people who wear Boxing Gloves while hitting the Heavy bag and sparring/fighting without any damage to their hands. If you hit anything with your hand, open or fist there is a chance you can break it or damage it, it's called "Presumption of Risk" Boxing gloves are safer than using your bear fist, wouldn't you agree?
Each one of the manufactures make their glove differently, all boxing gloves use to be made with leather and stuffed with Horse Hair, now today's technology the majority of gloves are made with condensed foam or polyurethane foam. Grant and Reyes Boxing gloves are made with a sleeker version of foam called punchers gloves. Everlast uses traditional methods as Tuf-Wear and Ringside, 4 layers of foam concentrating primarily in the knuckle area. There is a glove made in Japan called Winning that a lot of fighters with hand problems use because of the thicker padding being used in the knuckle area.
You can go to Grant.com or Ringside.com and they have brief explanations about their Boxing Gloves and how they are made.
Good Luck Raj, I hope this helped.
The fact that they've been used for decades of boxing matches at the Olympic & pro levels, and we don't see hand problems associated with boxing gloves. They seem to work as far as the protection they offer, just like athletic supporters and protective headgear seem to perform their functions.
It may lesser the chance of an injured Knuckles, but since Boxers Punches harder than regular people they still need to Protect their hands with Handwraps.
Gloves lessen the injuries but does not necessarily protect your hands.
the gloves are to protect the opponent not the fighters hands the tape job is what protects the boxers hands making sure the bones in the hands are tightly wrapped together
