Should Fathers and uncles from hell be banned from attending junior Hockey matches?
My uncle has just showed me a question he asked which refered to hockey matches I have played in and I want you to know he is a liar and a hypocrite. He is an embarosment, he stands on the edge shouting obsenities at the other team and he is the one who shouted 'hit her' when I was bought down. The other girl bought me downthree times and it sounded a good idea at the time. We were playing a dirty team and most of my team had had enogh thats why all the team got invoved and when we were back in school Miss Fergison accepted this nevertheless the team was on a weeks detention. On another occasion he had a stand up argument with the referee, over a foul I knew was my fault. I do love my uncle but dear uncle Colin keep away from my Hockey matches unless you behave yourself.

Tell your uncle to stop living vicariously through you. He needs to get his own life and let you have fun! There is absolutely no reason to shout anything but cheers at a hockey game. If he wants to play let him get his gear and play with the big boys! Grow up and be a man of integrity, Uncle! Show this kid by your actions what it means to be an adult!
Your lucky you got someone interested to care about yor matches and support you he may be a little bit crazy and embarassing but at least he cares
Tell Uncle Colin it is a game and it is suppose to be fun. You are not there to fight or argue with the ref and the other team and neither is he.You are there to enjoy yourself. Let your uncle know you appreciate him coming but if he cannot contain himself and be a good sportsman then not to show up at your games. Be nice but be firm about this.

Fathers and uncles are the bane of coaches and good sportsmanship. Mothers are even worse. It's just a fact of life. Nothing you can do about their behavior.
You might try keeping them away from the game. Just before playing time, send them off on a wild-goose-chase to some sort of fake emergency.
No there is a severe backlog of legislaton in parliament so the mechanism for implementing such a law is not available.
However a simple ban on hockey matches, put forward with dodgy statistics proving that Hockey injuries cost the NHS tens of pence each millennium, should be relativly easy to get put in place through a private members bill.
Yes! I have the same problem with some dads on my son's football team- one of them uses terrible language & smokes constantly. I can't believe the way grown men behave watching children's sport-it's pathetic. You do have to play against dirty teams, but that's what helps you toughen up, because people just aren't nice, unfortunately. Keep your chin up hon, and keep on with the hockey. remember, your uncle loves you x

Your uncle should be banned. He sounds like a real loser. I wouldn't tolerate trash like that. That was sick of him to do that to you.
From junior matches, yes.Send them to the NHL where they belong!
Yes, the school or the league can make the decision to not allow or remove people for that kind of behavior. There was a youth soccer leaugue a few years ago that banned parents from a few games because of fighting and yelling negative things. After that people attending the games had to sign an agreement that they would not do certain behavior.
It is sad that it comes to where kids don't want people there, especially because sports are suppose to be fun and family is suppose to be supportive.
As a parent and a coach I am so sorry - it's humiliating for kids when it's their family creating the scene - I've asked parents to leave because of their language - talk to your coach. Our league has started Silent Saturdays - noone, not even the coaches are allowed to speak to the kids on the field or the refs except to sub a player. Some parents brought tape to shut make sure they kept their mouths shut - you might bring some for your uncle and tell him if he wants to stay he has to use it cause YOU are being punished for HIS behavior when he speaks up in an attempt to be supportive. they shouldn't be banned but you could sit them in the penalty box
i love hockey as a spectator sport, but have never watched women play. i watch men's junior hockey and they make good hits as part of their game (checking). perhaps your uncle needs to realize women's hockey may be a different game. he can come with me to see the young men play and yell "hit him! hit him!" all night long.
on one hand i say no coz theyér just interested in the game. however, i know you're embarassement and know that it is a HUGE pain in the, well, you know where ;)
anyway, i think we should give embarrising fathers and uncles and anyone a second chance, give them a warning, and if they don't listen, cick em out. give them a new chance in the next game and then repeat this. if this still doesn't help i think they should be banned. i've had my share of embarresment from my dad and though i'm glad he's enthusiastic about me playing hockey, i wish he would shut up and be a more quiet and civil father and spectator!
so let's give em a second chance and not bann them till they've blown the second chance!

We all know the best team to coach is a team of orphans. In Colo. we do have a rule about this. Not sure if it's USA hockey or just CAHA. anyway they are asked to leave. I like it as a coach.
