Play the best possible player you can find. Try play against player with different styles of play. Practise Practise Practise
PLAY MORE OFTEN, GET / KEEP FIT OR GO TO CHINA LOL!
Join a really good club that is playing in a league. Make sure the club has a coach or a senior retired player who knows all the tricks and skills and is willing to advance young players. You need to develop a style of play that suits you and you can be consistent with and you need to practice against all other styles of play. Develop services to suit your game style. If you are very strong on the forehand and can loop drive and top spin then you need to develop services that have a greater chance of being returned to the forehand side of the table.
If you find the right club with a good pool of players and a coach then practice as much as you can. It's a great sport. Hope you enjoy climbing the ladder
Remember to stick to your two shots. Its all about technique, dont keep changing your style try to keep it the same. Choose away of holding the bat that you are comfartable with, i play penhold but most europein player play shake hand. Concentrate on diaganals for hours on end and get your two shots as consistent as you can, thats really important
