Football should not be a business! it should be an enjoyable past-time for the'lower' classes like it was
Answers:
Funny you should say that, but I always thought it was supposed to be a GAME and not a business, and of course, now that the shite has hit the fan, it looks like FIFA and the rest of them are going to take steps to stop so much of the buying and selling.
Who knows, perhaps one day we'll have an English football team with some real Englishmen in it instead of a load of bought-in outsiders.
be quiet pauper
What?
I totally agree, but we the spectator expect better facilities, better players and a more competitive game. All of this has to be paid for and that is why football has created it's own monster.
football is still a game for most players and fans, its the agent and people behind the scenes who are treating it as an opportunity to become stinking rich.using a great game to feed there filthy lust to become more richer than they already are.beautiful game illustrated by xabi Alonso's beautiful goal the other night.
cant agree on it...people like beckam, ronaldo, cristian, roony makes the game come alive.they are highly paid and sometimes the contrct news is bigger than the game itself...its all about clubs and countries..
Foot ball is for everyone.cant relate the business of the players and the play.its their personnel stuff.
Wow! You asked a sensible question fella. Not like that one about Arabs and Lucifer! Is this real time maturing in the making?
I agree - anyone who gets paid more than me gets paid too much!
aye lad, i remember when there were 14 of us sharing a bowl of gruel, and after working a 20 hour shift down mine, id have to walk 60 miles to school, aye those were the days lad, those were the days.
And so say I.
maybe you are right, but think about such thing which you can change and not those one. in this question nothing will change...
I would say there should be a fixed price for tickets and players wages
It's all business. Just look at the money paid for endorsements and TV rights. If you want it to be no more than a no cost, enjoyable pasttime, I suggest you go down to the park and watch the kids play at it.
I disagree that the "Rich" are always stealing off the "Poor". You're giving them your money..that's why they're rich..that's why you're poor.
Now stop whining and save your money....
It's the "working classes" who have poured all this money into the game, buying tickets, merchandise, programmes, food and drink at games etc. and subscribing to Sky, buying magazines and papers about the sport etc. They created this monster!
football is very very big business now and I agree it should not dominate the game but unless you wish to deprive yourself of watching your team play and not pay your money over the turnstile and thousand of other people did the same then football clubs would have to have a rethink
I think dick has got it spot on.
It always has been a game of the lower classes. Indeed many of the footballers start out in underpriviledged families, look into their backgrounds and hardly any of them were born into the obscene wealth they now enjoy.
However the powers at play behind the scenes are making huge profits from the game and to them it's not really about the traditional spirit of the game.
These same players forget their humble begininnings and turn their egos and lifestyles into a public spectacle.
Much as there are those who will always want to see just the good and quality football, there are also many who want to see showbiz, gossip and glamour in every facet of life- including sport.
nonsense, football is a beautiful game so if you can't cough up in tribute to it you don't deserve to watch any football at all!
