Whats is the optimum height for a Tee using a 460cc No1 Driver ?
I use a Persimmon 460cc Driver with 4" wooden tee's inserted about 1" in the ground - is this the optimum ?

Everyone is different you want to know the ball off the tee without hitting the ground. Now if you feelik you lose to much distance because the ball is going to high tee it lower
Trial and error I would imagine.
Just be thankful you can make the ball go!

It depends on the depth of the clubface. Tee the ball up so that half the ball is higher than the top of the clubface and that should be correct.
The "official" answer is that half of the ball's diametre should be above the club head.
However, it really depends on your swing. If you swing low to the ground then the tee needs to be lower, if you hit "on the up" then the tee should be higher.
As already answered: trial and error will give you your optimum height, but it does help if you know your swing.
Also: teeing the ball low tends to hit it higher and vice versa!
the largest persimmon driver manufactured is 265 cc. Louisville golf. sure u dont have ur type of driver mixed up. or are fibbing. persimmon is real wood. if it was 460cc it would be about a G9 swing weight and would be like trying to hit a golf ball with a sledge hammer. if it is a titanium driver of 460cc of any brand. then tee it with half the ball above the top edge of the driver with the driver resting on the ground. everyone tees it high and lets it fly today. but watch out to high and u can undercut the ball and make "sky marks" on ur drive. a sure sign that u have it teed to high. it goes 300 yds up, and one hundred yards forward that way. "example" instead of the one hundred up and 300 forward.
it is down to your swing and preferences. golf is quite a phsycological game and if your clubhead and ball position dont look right to you and then you swing. you will be hesitant and this will cause mishits.
