In UFC where is the "reach" of the fighter measured from?

In UFC where is the "reach" of the fighter measured from? It says that the reach of this one dude is 79.5 inches long but i have no idea where it is measured from it sure as hell aint the length of his arm, it would mean his arm would be 6.5 feet long!

Arms spread out right (like Jesus on the cross) middle finger tip to middle finger tip. if you get what I mean
they stand with arms out to the side and measure from tip omiddle finger to tip of the other middle finger

you extend you arm in the air they thenmeasure from you waistline to the tip of your finger, i think you may have missinterpreted the 6.5 feet arm.
