Where do I find out whether a certificate of authenticity is authentic?

I have a signed picture in a frame and it has come with a certificate of authenticity but I would like to see if it is the real McCoy or a dud..how do I find out?

Check the certificate of authenticity for your certificate of authenitcy!
You need another Certificate of Authenticity to prove that the original certificate is authentic. Oh, and then you'll need another one etc etc etc ..
If the COA was issued and/or created by the individual or company from which you bought the photograph, the chances are fairly high that both the COA and the photo are worthless. Anyone can create a bogus COA. The only way to determine whether the autograph is authentic is to have it independently verified by an objective, legitimate autograph authentication company.
