How many Dimples are there on a regulation Golf Ball?
Answers:
Most golf balls on sale today have about 300 - 450 dimples. There were a few balls having over 500 dimples before. The record holder was a ball with 1,070 dimples -- 414 larger ones (in four different sizes) and 656 pinhead-sized ones. All brands of balls, except one, have even-numbered dimples. The only odd-numbered ball on market is a ball with 333 dimples.
It depends on the make, but the Titleist Pro V1 has 392
A lot less than there are on my behind, I can tell you.
last time i counted it was 440!!
The number of dimples will differ from brand to brand. The more dimples, the further the ball will travel.
In view of this, all balls used in professional competition must have the same number of dimples. Coincidentally, there is exactly one for every day of the year, so the answer is 365.
And no, there is not one extra in Leap years.

Depends on the ball. There is no standard on the PGA Tour. Dimples make the ball fly. I smooth ball wouldn't go far at all if it didn't have dimples. Just like it wouldn't go far if the club didn't have grooves.

There is no regulation on dimples. Research changes every day.
It varies between manufacturers and between types of golf balls. Regulations don't affect number of dimples, only size, weight, etc. and that dimples cannot affect flight of ball non-uniformly. Take a look at USGA.ORG and take a look at the equipment rules
