Big name foreigners..?
Can you name any big name foreigners that came to England and played well?. I can only think of 1- ZOLA.
Answers:
I understand the question ,they had a big name before the came to England, the 1 player that im amazed that nobody seems to mention and he was consistent for 10 years is Dennis Bergkamp ,world class player before Bruce Rioch took him to Arsenal sheer quality until his retirement.
How about Ardiles and Villa?
Errrrrrrrr .Thierry Henry maybe. What a poorly thought out question
Henry.
Peter Schmeichel was consistantly good for Man U, he really pulled the team together.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer played well for a couple of years
Thierri Henry just needs increased quality of football from his fellow players.
Only really an ocassional football fan otherwise I would be able to think of more, no doubt.
George Best
Eric Cantona
George Best
Ruud Van Nistelrooy ( consistently top scorer)
Theirry Henry
Peter Schmeichel
Henry and Van Nistelrooy WERE big name players before they joined the premiership. Van Nistelrooy was top goalscorer in europe whil at PSV, and was big news when he injured his knee before he joined united
Jurgen Klinsmann did well for Spurs as well.
But how about players like Xabi Alonso, Cech, Henry?
As i'm from Leeds I should say Cantona.
I suppose Tony Yeboah and possibly Radebe.
Definately not Thomas Brolin, Frank Strandli or Phil Masinga though!
But being a Chelsea fan i gotta agree on Zola he was amazing!
Cech is a close second though (hope he's back in action soon)
P.s If anybody says Ronny Rosenthal i want you to never speak to them again!
