In what sport? if it's tennis; he'll probably have to be close to pro. or have some kind of ATP ranking. Olympic tennis is played by professionals and your country's comittee will select players, especially ones that has played in other events.such as Davis cup.
Call up the olympic training center and have them come take a look.
first find out if your child wants to then if they do sport properly its normally there coach who puts them forward

you cant. if your child doesn't want to do this there's nothing you can do to convince him even if he does do it he wont be happy and most likely not give it 100%

encourage your child to do it but if he doesn't want to then just let him do whatever he wants he'd be better off that way. in that way he won't feel pressure and can perform better in whatever field he enters
