Frank Bruno, one of this Countries Greatest Boxers.
Michael Schumacher
I guess there's so many amazing sportsmen, but the runner Oscar Pistorius is truly inspiring, a double amputee yet is hoping to compete in the (able-bodied) Olympics maybe even in 2008. And only 19! I really hope he does it.
Just alive, or still playing the sport? I think alive you'd have to say Pelè - just the consensus of opinion in his favour is incredible, it's rare for anyone to inspire that kind of agreement.
If you mean still playing, it's got to be Tiger Woods - incredible domination and scares the living daylights out of his opponents.
On a personal level I'd choose Shane Warne, because he's the best ever at what he does, whereas with Tiger it's not clear yet if he's better than Nicklaus. (For Americans reading this: He's a cricketer.)
depends on which sport but Michael Jordan is one of the greatest sportsmen. He cud even be a role model fer kids.
Here's a fact about his youth:
He was kicked out of the high school basketball team becauce the coach thought he wasnt gud enuff. so he went on training and practicing harder than ever 2 prove the coach wrong and its obvious he achieved it...
In soccer, thers Pele, Maradona, Gerd Muller, Michel Platini and so many others.
I reckon Daley Thomson was in his hayday and Boris Becker in his but then I am a bit out of date. You did say alive though.
With out a doubt it'd be Muhammad Ali
Right now, it's Roger Federer. 8 majors in the last 3 years. The guy is unstoppable.
