you have to run and navigate your way around the map finding each point. each point usually has some sort of mark or number which you have to list as proof of having been there. fastest time wins.

Its like cross country running but you use a map and a compass to find your way round from a to b. A treasure hunt in a way. When we did it in school we had to find different landmarks and there was a clue for each one. It was good fun
You start at one point and you are given a map. You have to get to another point, stopping at checkpoints in between.

The object of orienteering is to locate control points by using a map and compass to navigate through the woods. The courses may be as long as 10 km.

It is a sport where u have to find posts with numbers on them. It is basically just using a map and trying to find a collection of posts first when u find the post they have a stamp on them which u use to stamp ur card to prove u've been there. We had to do it in school years ago so i can't really remember it precisely but thats the general gist of it.
