Cairns? Any advice?

My young friend is on his first major trip, currently visiting here in Japan and leaving for Cairns on Saturday. Any good places or cool things to do there, regular tourist stuff excepted? Thanks.

Answers:
Do Bungy jump, then take a flight in a 1931 tiger moth aircraft over cairns, visit the pier shopping centre with it's own aquarium where they feed the sharks.
Take a trip upto Kuranda on the train and visit the butterfly farm and the bird sanctuary, and you can also go to the Gun Deck and do some shooting, then take the cable car back down over the rain forest canopy.
Check out the many bars and restaurants for some great sea food and night life.

Without doubt, the most amazing thing I did in Cairns was got on the largest catamaran and went snorkeling in the barrier reef, absolutely wonderful
