Sending laptop from U.S. to the UK?

Did anyone ever ship a PC from the U.S. to the UK?
If yes, how much did you pay as customs fees?
Was the total amount cheaper than buying the laptop from the UK?
Is this something you recommend to others to do? Why?

Answers:
The only Customs fees you will incur is Import Vat at 17.5%, this will be charged on the Value of your Laptop + Freight costs.
Computers are Duty Free.
However if it is a Personal item and you have owned it for over 6 months you can take it in using a C3 document, if you have owned it for over 6 months then you shouldn't have to pay any customs charges
