Try & get hold of the backpackers guide called; 'Coast to Coast' they have a website so just google them & contact all the hostels in areas youd like to visit/ stay as they are always looking for casual workers for short or long stays, some may offer food & lodging for a few hours work a day others may offer 'proper' work & more money. its a great way to do some unusual work, see the country, meet like minded people & experience stuff you wouldnt normally get to do. have fun!
