Who can I hire privately as a guide in Cuba?

if you want to be a guide (which I think that is your question) you will have to find the agency that handles most of the publications for Cuba. I would recommend to get with a company that handles that round there. Most people come over there with a guided tour package. Good Luck!

Just know that in addition to the money you will pay your guide, you will be paying for everything for both of you: car, taxi, food, drink, whatever.

Maybe you could pop into either Thomas Cook or First Choice on the high street and ask them if they have any information on private guides in Cuba, both are really helpful and I am sure they will be able to put you on the right track, though all the hotels do trips and tours with guides so maybe you could just join in on one of those, good luck.
You didn't say what part of Cuba. In Havana there is a guy named "Potato". He seems to be very highly recommended. You can contact him at potato@cuba-junky.com or look him up on the Cuba Junky site. You will see his name at the top of the page..just click on it. There is a video of him and all other kinds of information. If you aren't going to be in Havana he might have contacts of good guides in other areas.
