Has anyone been to The Caves in Niddry Street South in Edinburgh?

If so do you know of any good / cheap hotels?

Answers:
oops! not getting your question are they? Get a b&b or guest house on old dalkeith road or newington. As long as it isn't festival, christmas or new year time the prices are decent. Good bus service to city centre from both areas. Tonnes of choice. Our hostelries and buses are clean too. Nicola sounds like she got ripped off! You couldn't pay me to stay in Musselburgh. Plus it's MILES from Niddry Street.
I've been It's amazing, I went in August. We stayed just outside the city centre in Musselburgh, in the Premier Travel Inn. It was really nice, and had a pub and resturant beside it. It was only £120 a night for a family room. If you stay in Edinburgh city centre you'll be hard pushed to find nice accomadation for a reasonable price.
You can E mail me if you like and I can give your more help.
no. i havent
The High Street Hostel on Blackfriars Street is extremely close to Niddry Street. And if you can stand a fair share of rowdy backpackers and bunk beds you'll have a great time there for a minimal dent in your pocket. I used to 'live there' for a bit, when I first moved to Scotland - and though I'm neither rowdy nor a backpacker I can recommend it.

Here's a pic so you recognise it. There's a person sitting in a doorway on the left side of the street, that's the entrabnce to the hostel. The road leads up to the Royal Mile, or down to Cowgate.

Hi,

I live near Edinburgh so I suggest you aviod the rip off prices in Edinburgh. Go to a guest house in Portobello 2 miles from Edinburgh city centre. And lothian buses run there even throughout the night. Day ticket for buses is £2.30 and you can travel 10 mile radius of the city.

Glad to help.
