Passenger List?
My husband is seriously delayed on a flight back to the UK from Cuba via Madrid. I can't find any information online about what his happening with his flightm & the last I have is a message from him yesterday morning saying he was delayed. If I happen to get through to the airlines operating his flight, would they be able to tell me what flight he had been changed to?

Doubtful. the UK has some pretty stringent privacy laws. Even a spouse shouldn't have access to that information. Then again, you may get a sympathetic agent who's willing to break the law for you.
I would doubt it as this would be a breach of customer confidentiality. If you are really worried, you could try but just be prepared to be knocked back. Most companies won't even discuss a spouse's details with anyone. Check on departure / arrival times online for the airport, that might tell you what you need to know.
The only way they would release passenger information is if your name was in his reservation. He can tell the airline to remark his reservation stating that it's ok to release passenger information to blah-blah-blah.
Otherwise, you just have to wait until he calls you.

Due to data protection they won't be able to release any information. Ii's like phoning a bank and asking for info on someone elses account.
The only thing you can do is go to the police if you don't hear anything in the next few days and file him as a missing person, then the airlines can speak to you about his reservation.
I am not sure but there is no harm trying. They would probably be able to tell you who could inform you if they can't.
