Any good cheap hotels in new york?

There are no really cheap hotels in central New York but if you don't mind being a little way out try New Jersey they have all the big name hotels but at less cost. It is so easy to get into the city from there, you can get a bus which takes about 40 mins and it will drop you off at 8th Avenue (the terminus). The buses run every hour until very late at night
i stayed in the 30-30 hotel, it was great!

West Side YMCA , 64th Broadway

we stayed at st james (may be called st james palace), its only half a block from times square. its being done up at mo but if you look on hotel conxions they guaranteed a renovated room. it does not have the best reviews on trip advisor but basicaly you get what you pay for in new york and if you just want somewhere to lay your head then you cant get a better location
