In Toronto which is the best area to live in if u are working by yonge/bloor & are willing to pay $800 rent?
Answers:
Lisa Where are you renting a nice apartment for $800 a month anywhere even close to downtown Toronto!
A crappy 1 bdrm apartment in downtown is about $1100.00 a month! You can get a bachelor for about $850-900, and these rates dont include utilities!
There are alot of buildings on Church near Bloor, Isabella, Sherbourne, and in between Church and Jarvis on Isabella, Charles, east of Yonge on Charles..
Anything on Bay or south of Wellsley are expensive, and it depends if your O.K. will older buildings or prefer a high rise, take a stroll in that area and note the one with vacancy postings, get the numbers, they are always on the signage out front and call during the week.
I worked in that area for 4 years and wish I had made that decision, and not had to come down from North York and endiure the 35 minute trip daily.
I also work at Yonge & Bloor. I commute from High Park area- my rent is around $800.00. Check out www.viewit.ca and look for places in the High Park area. The commute is only about 15 minutes.
Good Luck!
Well first of all welcome to our city of Toronto!! $800 dollars rent is average rental property for a one bedroom apt. If you like a nice apt. I suggest to travel a little further north of the downtown core. Uptown Toronto or North York. It is a very sophisticated area and less expensive than right downtown. Newer apts. and also right on the transit line as well. It would take a 15min to 20 min ride on the subway. Take a look at the newspaper called The Toronto Star under the classified section under apartments unfurnished. So many to chose from.
Good Luck and enjoy our city!!
