Day Off. Places to visit in the Lakes or Dales?
We've got a day off on Monday.
Can you reccommend somewhere in either Yorkshire Dales or Lake District.
We visit Keswick and like it so somewhere similar where I can walk the dog.
Thanks!

If you've never been I can heartily recommend Fountains Abbey near Ripon, it's absolutely gorgeous and dogs are fine, except in the neighbouring deer park.
Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough are close and all worth a visit. You will, however, need a car to get round.
Buttermere is a lovely area in the Lakes.
It's not too far from Keswick and has some fantastic walking - which isn't desperately hard.
The Bridge hotel is nice at Buttermere - but it's not exactly cheap. IT IS however, worth it.
conniston is very nice
How about trying the Peak District very nice countryside and good for walking.
I really like Grasmere, it is more tranquil than a lot of places and there are great walks around Chapel Stile. Watch out for ticks and midges when you take the dog though, as we have had a bit of rain recently.

ok - check out - Great Langdale Fell, especially Dungeon Gill. There are any good walks and amazing vistas in that area. Take a waterproof.
