I am sitting here in South Portland, Maine, writing to you right now. It rained last night and the winds blew up to and over 60 miles per hour! The rain hit the windows in torrents. It was wild last night! You would find Maine at the height of its autumn foliage right now. Many people who visit here like to go aboard the Casco Bay Lines ferries and tour Casco Bay for a little over an hour trip around our harbor. It gives you a good idea of what the coastline looks like, and you get to see the wildlilfe and seals, cormorants, seagulls, and the island homes and lobster fishermen. That is a very favourite attraction when visiting Maine. I have a 12-speed bicycle, so I can pedal out to Fort Williams, where you would be able to see Portland Headlight, which is an historic site. Also, Cape Ellizabeth features Two Lights State Park. You would be welcome to travel further down the coast of Maine to Reid State Park just outside of Georgetown, and there are many other places I believe you would just love. Baxter State Park with majestic Mt. Katahdin is just incredibly beautiful, especially at this time of year with all the brilliant coloured leaves everywhere. I visited Maine a long time ago. I would recommend it if you are the outdoorsy type or are looking for a quiet trip. Be sure to go in the late Spring or Summer.

Both are very nice places, but entirely different from each other. Maine is Sea Coast and so would be a lot like some of the tamer sea coasts in England, although they don't have the white cliffs of Dover. Montana is dramatic. One of the prettiest parks in the world is there (Yellowstone) It has a glacier. It has plains and mountains. Don't visit either in the winter. They both have fairly cold winters, although Maine gets some heat from the Ocean, so it is not quite as cold.
