Any dual nationals..British and American citizens?. living in theUK?

Do you have nay problems entering the US on your american passport and then being asked why you have no british immigration stamp in it? I said to the officer i was a dual national , to which he replied oh ok. But why does he have to ask in the first place. I AM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN.MY AMERICAN PASSPORT IN IN HIS HANDS.I HAVE THE RIGHT TO ENTER THE USA..THAT IS THE LAW.

I'm not a dual national but I know a guy who's kiwi and british and he always has trouble.
