The best place to go is Pattaya. It is a seaside resort about 2-3hr bus ride from Bangkok, notorious for the nightlife. From what I heard, the prices are from 500-1500 baht for short time and 1000-2500 for all-night.
In Bangkok, the most famous areas are Nana plaza and Soi Cowboy, both along the upper Sukhumwit road -- I think prices are ~2000 baht.
1 USD is 40 baht -- a bit less actually, but this is easy to work with: 1000 baht is $25.
Relax and enjoy the trip, you don't really need to research too much -- in Thailand, sex finds you, not vice versa.

Expect to pay with your life. Thailand has the highest rate of AIDS outside of Africa right now. Go to a bath house, take your own condoms, the girls save money by rinsing and reusing condoms there. 30 years ago it was five bucks.
