What has happened to Chorlton?
When did everyone turn so rude there? Every place I went into today, the staff acted like they couldn't be arsed or just carried on conversing with their mate.
And where did all the Muslim women come from? At one point I was the only barehead in a sea of headscarves!
Chorlton never used to be like this. It used to be quite nice. What happened? Did everyone just disappear up their own backsides?

I though you meant Chorlton of "Chorlton and the Wheelies" who was a big vacant dragon thing in an old show. It was a very amusing show when I was young.

I have never been to Cholton but the official website: http://www.chorlton.co.uk/directory/. does not inspire me to go. If you compare it to where I live: http://www.knaresborough.co.uk/. then you will see how underwhelmed I am by Chorlton.
Although the library looks like a nice building. There is also a workhouse. and so on.
Perhaps you need to start to integrate the Muslim women into the Manchester culture more - show them the excellent city centre and take them to shows at the Apollo. Then they may be more polite to you and everyone else there.
I am sure that all the people there are nice underneath their rude exteriors. And if they are all b*str*ds at heart then sod them and start using the facilities in Fallowfield instead - my sister Hayley is a student in Fallowfield and has never mentioned any rudeness there.
I was born at home on Whitelow rd,now all the property prices have gone sky high and I suppose people think that gives them the right to be rude.I don't live there anymore.
