Weather in Aberdeen, Scotland?
Hi - can anyone tell me what the weather is like in Aberdeen? Does it snow in the winter? How is the summer?
Answers:
Yes it snows every winter
summer is fine most of the time; but occasionally, you get short summers, that last about 6 to 8 weeks; you can't always garantee sunshine when you plan a barbecue; having said that, the last couple of summers were fine ie lasting more than 10 weeks.
Presently, it is overcast with occasional rain, many households have started to use their heating

Well, no need to pack the sun creme!
The winters in Aberdeen are not that bad. Cool, with average temperatures of +5-8 degrees. Sure it rains, but there are wetter places in Britain. Occassional snow, tends to fall more inland.
The killers are the summers. The east coast of Britain is often plagued by low grey cloud (known locally as "harr"). This is generated by land being warmed up next to a cool sea. So, if you are coming to Aberdeen to live and value sunshine, don't buy a place on the coast. Inland is better in the summer.
Weather in Aberdeen is poor. I lived in Aberdeen for six years - it snows every winter, so bad that the whole city closes down. Its usuall very cold in Aberdeen and the summer is broken - usually a few day of sunshine followed by a few days of rain. Its a nice place tho!
IT SNOWS MOST YEARS ANY TIME FROM OCTOBER - TO MAY I HAVE LIVED IN ABERDEEN FOR 40 YEARS AND THE ONLY TIME THE CITY CLOSED DOWN WAS IN 1963

i work offshore (oil rigs) aberdeen and if we get 3 days sunshine then we get 5 days fog, we tend to get a fair bit of snow offshore also, and either one of the 2 stops the helicopters .
I live about 30 miles north of Aberdeen, it's absolutely gorgeous blus skies at the moment, but that can change very rapidly! The weather doesn't bother me, why should it when i'm surrounded by some of the most stunning countryside in the world?!
