Would you like it is airlines let you make mobile calls onthe plane?

It might be handy, but what if the phones never stopped ringing ?
And many people cannot speak quietly.

Answers:
It's bad enough that I can't even go to a sit-down restaurant (I'm not talking candlelight and tuxedoed waiters, but still) without someone's infernal Nextel walkie-talkie/cell phone chirping and someone squawking. I think it's nice that cell phone usage isn't allowed on an airline. I know when I'm in coach, crammed in with two other men beside me, I'm thankful that at least there aren't a dozen conversations going on around me! I enjoy the peace and quiet that I can currently get on a plane, and I'm even able to get some shut-eye if one of the seats is vacant.
I think it would drive me mad being on a long flight with some loud mouthed (and they usually are) person on the phone talking a lot of drivel just letting their friends know they were on a plane. Some people just want to sleep or read quietly
This is a disastrous policy change (is it Emirates airline starting this?).
There are two worries - (1) flying is one of the few remaining havens where you can get away from F***ing ringtones and loud voices, now see risk of air rage and (2) if the new antenna fails and tens of people are connected simultaneously, the power surge could bring down the aircraft.
No! It's bad enough being cooped up for ten hours with a load of random people without having to listen to them go on about their work or personal stuff. It's hard enough to get comfortable as it is. Also, can you imagine just drifting off to sleep and then being shocked awake by some awful ring tone? This is a bad idea on so many levels: it would be annoying, people would get annoyed at each other, you'd get to your destination more tired than you would have done before, and it would probably increase jet-lag.
No, it's one place where thank god we don't have to hear annoying ring tones every 2 seconds and people yelling down their phones.
Imagine all the air rage that would happen, people tring to sleep and getting disturbed and woken up - nightmare.
