Not sure about the indie rock thing but the comedy club is a good laugh
Stay in large groups in Camden. Only this year did it fall off of the top five most dangerous cities in the usa. It was number one the last two years in a row.
I like using things like Jambase.com to find out where bands are playing in a town I will be in. ticketmaster.com works too, for bigger bands.
Also check out the Good Mixer on Inverness St (interesting crowd), The Dublin Castle on Parkway (live bands in the back room, followed by indie DJ til late) and the Barfly / Monarch, up towards Chalk Farm (more live bands and indie DJ).
Also the best breakfasts in London at Bar Solo on Inverness St to ease the hangover.
The Barfly has live bands. Or the Electric Ballroom. Or Camden Underworld.
the underworld (part of the worlds end pub) in camden opp tube station is great for live bands but the dublin castle is a good night out if you havnt been there before. have a great weekend.
