What's the best travel sickness tablets on the market?
Answers:
I use Stugeron 15. Its good but can cause drowsiness, although so far I've been okay when I taken them. You can get it in Boots, or any other pharmacist
Why do you want tablets that make you sick whilst travelling?
there are a lot. but the best is ur will power....
Qualuudes.
I sometimes get sea sick (but the good kind, after I "Launch the Shuttle" I feel better), I use a product called "BONINE", you take it an hour before travelling (no water needed, it tastes like a piece of candy sweetart), then you are good for 24 hrs. ;) "FISH ON" !
I dont take tablets i use sea bands, their tight bands that go around your wrist and have a little plastic ball on them which goes on your pressure point this stops you feeling sick, i dunno how but it works!
Here's a true story for you.I never ever get sea sick or flight sickness but last week on the ferry boy oh boy was I sick! And the best was that I actually went to ask the crew for travel sickness tablets and they said to me that they stopped selling them, you now have to get them over the counter..the one they do sell however is the wristband 1 and apparently in their opinion it is the worst one on the market so I am afraid of using that as they not exactly cheap. In my opinion its worth going to ask in the pharmacy and definately worth taking travel sickness tablets even if you don't intend on getting sick.
I agree with Jo H. The sea bands were the only thing that helped with my travel sickness. Have to pop them on about 30min before you travel and get them in the right place. A good chemist should be able to give you some good advice. Beyond that, sleeping through a long journey is the best bet, get your GP to give you a short prescription for a sleeping aid or pick up a natual remedy over the counter.
The generic brand (promethazine) is the best nausea medicine I have ever used. You have to ask the doctor to phone it in, and you'll have to tell him why, I'm sure. But he will understand if you tell him. I did the same thing and boy am I glad I took them with me on that fishing boat. I got a little sick, but, not like the rest of the group did. They made fun of me at first, saying I was a big baby and stuff like that. When we got way out there where you couldn't see land anymore, and the way the fish smelt.uh..I hate to even talk about it. Needless to say I was pretty much ok, while everyone else was throwing up. I would laugh but its the worse case of nausea you can get. The boat will not take you back to shore until the end of our pre-paid fishing trip.., which was several hours. The things you wear on your wrist or behind the ears aren't near as good as (promethazine,) the generic brand ! Remember to take it one hour before your trip, so it can be working before you get on a plane, boat, etc. Good Luck!
maxolon or stemetil are very good. Also look into homeopathic preparations. You are sure to find something in a health shop.
