"'im about to travel to the canary's. Am i better buying euro's in the UK or when I arrive?

Answers:
I'd take enough euros in cash from the UK to get you through the first night. From then on, I'd use your card to withdraw cash from the ATM. That way, you'll never lose all your money if you get robbed.
I would get enough to tied you over for the first couple of days and get the rest changed as and when you need it. Most places don't charge commission on changing sterling

Marks & Spencer usually do the best rate if you have one nearby

Have a good trip
definately in uk
Go to the post office and they will do them comm free, if you wait till you get out there they will charge you i have been to tenerife and lanzarote and fuetuventura so know what im talking about they will charge around 3% also i used to be a travelagent so know all about this also take some travellers cheques incase you loose or get your money stolen, hope you have a good trip! where abouts r u going?
If you Your going to the Canaries its best to get money there from a hole in the wall better exchange rate by 3or 4 cents.best with a nationwide debit dard,no charges.
Ie if its 145 euros here it will be 148 there
I went to Tenneriff in September and found shops take sterling in pounds only and the exchange rate was better than here. Have good one
Just take your atm card and a little cash.
buy here at your local bank
It depends on where you are buying your euro's at. Some places don't charge commission and some do, so you might want to just a little bit exchanged at a time, if you can find a place that doesn't charge you. It is also a good idea to set a certain dollar amount aside that you decide to exhange and bring that in cash, try not to use your credit card it costs you way more to exchange on a credit card than in cash.
tread warily. I was going to the states and picked up some dollars as you would, I was travelling KLM and decided to have a few euros for coffee in the Amsterdam stop over. The bloody bank charged me £3-00 for £200-00 into dollars and another
£3-00 for changing £10-00 into euros.
