Honestly. When you board a plane and you hear you have a female pilot, don't you worry, just a Little bit?
Answers:
I'm gonna get flamed and torched alive but yes, the last time I flew from Melbourne to Singapore and I got a female from the flight deck making the captain's announcements, I was a bit freaked...
No. You sexist pig.
I worry when they have male air hostesses.
nope infact i would feel very safe
haha! now that i think about it. i think i would. but if i would really think about it, she wouldn't make it to being a pilot if she's not good.
does that answer your question? =)
Never.I have a nice pilot to look at...
No- I worried when our pilot sounded middle eastern and we were flying to DC--GEEZ!And the flight was great and I was being dumb. Guys get in more wrecks than girls I bet- but then THAT would be sexist wouldn't it? Who got drunk and tried to fly awhile ago- 2 GUY pilots for an airliner---
Hi,,, I was on a military filight on a C-5 ,,, coming home from training and we sat down in Goosbay Newfoundland.. We hit a wind shear,,, and went side ways. literally,,,, the pilot pulled it out and gained altitude and made another round,,, and landed perfectly,,,,,,
When we were getting off the plane for fuel.. the pilot was standing there,,, she was a "Meg Ryan Cute" lady,,,, if I had my wishes ,,,, I would have proposed to her,,,, or at least Kissed her ...
I have No qualms about women pilots !
good luck
Not really! I read a news story, the other day about a male pilot who locked himself out of the cockpit, so I guess they can be just as bad! (He got back in eventually though)
nope, we drive better then males so we would have to fly better then them too.
O. M. G. if i ever find you.
No i don't I worry as they are both traine dand experienced and qualified people i worry about people like you
I just kid myself ..it's an effeminent bloke
no not at all
No I feel more relaxed !!
Ha ha ha! That happend to me on easyjet. My companion said exactly the same thing at the time. No, it didn't worry me and she was a brilliant pilot!
very very funny
Statistically there is no difference between the safety record of male and female pilots, according to the FAA.
There's no reason to feel this way, especially with larger jets as they have a "glass" cockpit (all computerized and using joysticks, not yokes) so there's no physical strength required.
Your mother, did she make any mistakes giving birth to you?
Worry? When I know that the pilot is smart enough to have overcome much of the past sexist behavior in that industry in particular. An industry in which historically a woman had to be twice as smart and three times as savvy, just to be considered .No, not really.
No I don't worry if their is afemale pilot in addition to those lovely air hostesses, I rather fantasize quite a lot more!
No way !
only had female pilot the once, exactly the same, in fact the landing was one of the best ever. So no, i wasnt in the least bit worried.
Not ata all
Not at all.
Why would it? From what century are you?
no. females are even better drivers also
Yes especially if she is blind.
The only way she knows she has taken off is because she can hear all the passenger shouting "FECKIN HELLLLL!!!!!
OK I'll be honest.. I got a flight a couple of years ago and that was my first thought (deep in the sub-conscious!!) that it was a female pilot.. As it was for the rest of the passengers as there was a lot of nervous giggling and then cheering. Personally I feel reassured when it sounds like an upper class male with a name like Whetherington-Smith or something, who sounds like he is in his 50's!!
Don't know why. but it helps!
Hello there! How are things in the 19th Century? Hope the time machine journey wasn't too bad -it must have been quite a surprise to see a woman driving the thing eh? Well once you adjust you'll get used to it. I can't wait to see your face when you actually get out into society and see the other clever things they can do!
Excellent question, as it serves to examine deep seated sexist feelings (which, by the way can be and are present in both genders).
My thinking on this goes something like this: Males attracted to the profession of airline pilot are doing it to gain access to nubile female flight attendants and to gain status. They jump wives/mates with slightly less frequency than their flight schedule. They flirt, pinch and grab. Females, in contradistinction have chosen a profession that is decidedly counter cultural, and have pursued this goal because they are exceptionally skilled and driven. They are more able to multi-task and less likely to get distracted by people entering the cockpit.
Much of what I have said is vast overgeneralization, but you are going for the down-and-dirty, nitty-gritty inner thoughts, I hope.
Plus, I have never heard of a female pilot arrested for alcohol just before they boarded the plane, or as they were taxiing, waiting to take off. So far, that is about 100% male.
