There isnt a best place. There are many lovely places to visit, but even a dull place would probably seem exciting if you are on honeymoon, as you are so loved up and dont really notice the scenery!
My sister went to Dubai & stayed in the "Mirage" Hotel. Super-luxury and sun, if that's your cup of tea. Plus camel-rides in the desert & shopping like a celebrity in the gold-paved bazaars.

Come to India. We have Manali, Goa, Kodaikanal, Rajasthan, Mount Abu, Khajuraho and many more.
I guess is not so important the place as long as you can enjoy the time together. I think a "green" quite place is wonderful, but I also love going to places non of us went before, it is nice to discover them together.

Old town of Nafplio, in Peloponnese, Greece. The most romantic town I can think of, so beautiful it almost hurts, with it's neoclassical buildings, three castles and beautiful scenery. Great places to eat and drink, and with both romantic and luxury hotels. And the atmosphere. True magic!
It doesn't matter where you go, as long as it's someplace that enhances the experience of being together and makes the start of your life together special.
