How do i get an International Driving license - quickly!?
I need one for my trip to Goa as the police are cracking down apparantly - thing is i drive a scooter here on my Provisional with CBT , and want to hire a scooter or small cc motorbike out there - can i still get an International Driving License / Permit with that?
And is a IDL the same as an IDP which you can get at the Post Office? Thanks!
Answers:
You can get an INternational Driving Permit from the motoring organisations (AA, RAC) or the Post Office. Unfortunately you can only get one if you have a full driving licence. I would take your provisional with you to India and see how you get on!
I've just answered your other question about this topic. See that one!
I got one at the AAA (American Auto Assoc) - while I waited. You just need a passport-sized photo and your existing license and go to a AAA store (AAA members pay a discounted price). It is good for 1 year. If you are already in India - too late!
