Yes it is, specialy if you go to Istambul. I have been there. Beautifl place. I would recommend that if you can go in some kind of tour or with a guide, it'm much much better
NO, but it is ok to eat a turkey, or score one at ten pin bowling.
I think it is best that you shelf this for the time being. A couple of days ago, a bomb blew off at a favourite tourist destination killing 3. It seems these people are targeting tourist to hurt the country's economy.
So long as you bring the cranberry sauce..homemade, not the canned crap, then, yes.it's generally safe.
It's relatively safe.
According to the papers, Brits are sticking 2 fingers to the terrorists and still going to Turkey. Go Brits
The travelling is fine, no problem there. Arriving and living.depends how statistically brave you are feeling at the moment I guess.1.8m Britons visit every year and a dozen or so get injured or killed by terrorist realated incidents.
Excerpt from the FO website
"There is a high threat from terrorism in Turkey. We believe that international terrorist groups, as well as indigenous ones, are currently active in Turkey. Further attacks, including in tourist areas, could well occur. On 16 July 2005, an explosion on a minibus in the western Turkish resort of Kusadasi killed five people including one British national; five British nationals were also injured. On 11 July 2005, an explosion in the coastal resort of Cesme, western Turkey, injured 20 people including a British national."
