Answers:
good socks and plenty of them, a first aid kit and plasters as above.
Good Backpack and clothes quick drying the best.
Good wide brimmed hat.
I find those telescopic walking stick useful.
Good Water container maybe some rehydration sachets, take one before you go to sleep helps to avoid cramps
Hopefully its Manchu Pichu you are going to need some warm clothes.
Your Camera plenty spare batteries for it and maybe spare memory stick/film.
No need to bother we GPS etc
And Have fun
Wear some comfy shoes
There is absolutely too much to tell you, but the basics are;
make sure you pack lots of warm clothes as it can get extremely cold once the sun has gone down.
Layer up on your clothes for extra warmth.
Spanish is there second language so make sure you have a phrase book in either South American Spanish or Quechua
Before leaving purchase some iodine based sterelising tablets for purifying water. It is called Lugols Iodine and is available at most leading chemists.
Whils't camping make sure you do so in designated areas only. There are patrols at night and if they catch you in banned areas they will do you.
Basically just think about going on a camping trip and just take essentials. You do not want to be carrying a whole load of stuff, so try to travel light.
A really good book to buy is 'Eight feet in the Andes', by Dervla Murphy. This will tell you everthing you need to know and everything that you need to take. You could also google it as there are some really good websites giving you the same information.
Above all, have a fabulous time.
