Europe - What's the best way to visit & look around for a tourist ? (Maily France, Germany, Switzerland)?

I went to Europe last year.and the best way to travel is by train.
You should buy a Eurail train pass before you go. Also you could travel by British Rail to Paris. There are several different passes available so you should choose the one that is best for you.
Your travel agent can order them. Just shop around for the best price.

Use the trains. Get a rail pass before you reach Europe. It shall probably be cheaper if purchased outside Europe.
plane trains and automobiles
I would say car is better because it gives you freedom to stop at any small town or village. but hire it on the Continent and take eurostar to France.

If you are independent - minded, then train travel with a pass is a good way, but you still have to find your way around, and get accommodation. If you don't want to do that, then an organised coach tour is an option.
Ryanair has cheap flights..more comfortable and quicker than trains.
If you book early you can get some tickets for 25 €
