I am the youngest of six boys. We were lucky in that we always had a holiday each year. The best for me was when my parents did not have much money and took me ( youngest ) and my next brother up, on a caravan holiday to a farm in Cumbria. There was just 1 caravan on the field, nothing around us but we were entertained by our parents all day long , the whole week. When you have that , what more do you really need..Maybe why after 35yrs its still a fond memory..
Interrailing across europe for a month, because its a once in a life time holiday.
On a canal boat on a canal, with lots of lovely pubs, a new wife, some high quality grass, good music,a few good books and a fishing rod.
It was so peaceful and tranquil, we were still quite young (this was in 1977)
Cape Town South Africa was a great holiday so much to see and do, Table Mountain was fantastic! Lizzie X
Had so many, but Ayers Rock was stunning and Australia in general was fab.
I have a penpal in America whom I have been writing to (nowadays it's emailing ) for 43 years. Over the years we swapped our news about hobbies, school days, marriages, births, good times and bad but never met each other or even heard each other's voice until last September when myself and my husband went over to visit her and her husband. We got on so well together and they drove us 2,500 miles around 5 different States ( N.Carolina, S Carolina, Virginia, W Virginia,Georgia and Tennessee)and gave us the holiday I will remember for the rest of my life.
I took my disabled partner to Tenerife last year, and we had a wonderful time.

Especially Loro parc. a fantastic dolphin show, plus seal shows etc.
March 2006 Solar Eclipse, stayed at cave hostel in Goreme, Cappadocia,Turkey and a week in Istanbul
Japan, the difference in culture is fantastic, the people are lovely, the cities are crazy, the mountains are beautiful, some of the beaches are out of this world and the food is divine.
Took Shinkansens everywhere.
Took local trains through the mountains.
Visited many Temples and shrines.
Cycled through villages.
Walked along river banks and climbed up beside waterfalls.
Saw monkeys !
I was treated with the utmost respect and the entire nation endeared itself to me.
With out hesitation, our best "holiday" was a one week cruise to the Galapagos Islands. We had a daily choice of two "light, moderate, or most active" excursions every day, returning to a luxury style yacht. Some days we snorkeled with sea lions, giant green sea turtles, and penguins (yes! penguins on the equator), while other days we hiked to the top of a mountain. We walked among blue footed boobies, flightless cormorants, sally lightfoot crabs, and nursing sea lions. Although my wife and I opted for almost all "most active" excursions, friends who traveled with us went for the "light" activities, which are designed for less active folks. Anyone at any age could enjoy this vacation. It was just incredible!

The ship itself accommodated 92 guests, all in large oceanview staterooms, has five decks and is the most luxurious ship sailing the Galapagos. The food and service were outstanding as were the on-board naturalists, who spoke in-detail about the following days options, and then shared their love of the islands with us.

The 7-night cruise was part of an 11-night package that included some nights in Quito, Ecuador.
2 weeks in Kenya. an all-inclusive 5star hotel on a beautiful beach and a four night five day safari in the middle. Absoloutly fantastic experience I would reccomend to anyone.
Dubai is a fantastic place. There is so much to do there and not
enough time to do it all. Weather is fantastic. Locals are great.
Never seen a more cleaner city in all my life. Buildings that you could never imagine to be so beautiful. Not to badly priced.
Think about it this way. Dubai is basically a desert and they have a indoor skiing resort, that you have to dress warmly or else you will freeze your *** of. Did you know they are called the city of lights. You will never regret going to Dubai. Went there in June 2006
A trip to Patagonia. starting on the east coast of Argentina, we drove hundreds of miles west on dirt tracks across vast open country in a Fiat Panda with a steel plate strapped underneath to protect it! Then onto the beautiful Los Glaciares National Park with its towering glaciers that break off in enourmous chunks and crash into the emerald coloured waters beneath. Then into Chile and the awe inspiring Torres del Paine National Park with its beautiful lakes and the odd puma watching your every move. Finally back into Argentina and on to the end of the world. the amazing southerly town of Ushuaia.
A truly amazing holiday. To see some of the highlights, check out my website http://www.360travelguide.com and select Chile or Argentina from the drop-down menu. Then click on the thumbnails to view my panoramic virtual tours of some of the most incredible places in the world.
