If you had 2 nights in Amsterdam- what would you do?

Any recommended places / venues / touristy stuff would be a plus.

Answers:
smok weed, and sex
i would be lost
bulldog cafe..enjoy
from what i saw on t.v, i would just try to get the hell out of there
I would see a much as I possbly could including just going into regular neighborhoods to see how the people actually live.
The restaurants are great, the bars are great, the dutch people are very friendly, and it's just a great place to walk around in general - what more could you want! (Watch out for all the bikes though!)
Sunset canal cruise, shop Damrak, the Anne Frank House, there are 5 world class museums there, do the tour that takes you to the dairy farm and the wooden shoe place (you can get fresh dairy products at the farm - the cheese is out of this world!), the Keukenhof.there is a ton to do (and that's without doing anything like visiting the Red Light district, which is fascinating, or doing any drugs). Amsterdam is a gorgeous city with friendly people - I would live there if I could!
Commit suicide. Been there once before and that is most probably what would happen if I had to go there again!
Go to the sex museum. It's hilarious!
i would, firstly, go to my hotel and get settled, then go to a cafe somewhere to eat. then i would visit all the memorable places in the city.
see if there is a gig on at the ajax stadium.....we went to see phil collins there....its such a great venue..go and watch all the attractions happening in the main square, or visit madame tussauds there is so much to do.....
shopping is great, Anne Frank's House is brilliant (be prepared to queue), restaurants by the canals, hire a bike, go on a boat tour, flower market, bars are good.
If you want to go and avoid the 'coffee shop' culture, there is plenty else to do.
Never been there, but they probably have good beer.
Get stoned and find a hooker or two
depends if you're married or not.

either way, first night smoke weed in a cafe.

second night: if single, go to red light district, hire hooker, live out sexual fantasies/perversions, get laid.

if married, nice romantic meal, back to the hotel room, get laid.
If I was a guy, visit the renowned red light district, and smoke all the cannabis available.

But being a woman with family, um. Sight see, tour round the windmills, and smoke alot of skunk in the hash bars. ha joking of course.

Have a good time.
I'd probably be at the airport awaiting my delayed connection flight out of the place as unless you do pot or want to tour the red light district it's not much of a place.
I know what most people would do..But me, I'd just take a look round the shops which are quite nice, take a look round the red light district (just cause you've got to see it..it's absolutely hilarious but kind of sad too..) and i went to some quite good museums there too, if thats your sort of thing i dont know.Oh and pick tulips and look at windmills of course!
go to bulldog, its a pretty famous smoking cafe..if you love cannabis you will be in heaven seriosly its insane
they have vending machines with bags of hash in...WOW!
Smoke weed all day (it's legal there) and I will hook myself up with the local girls.
There is a brilliant slanting bar (subsidence strikes again) near Rembrandt's house that was quite fun due to it being a deathtrap after a few drinks.
Smoke weed.
Van Gogh Museum and many others
Red light district.
Its a very easy town to walk around and has very interesting buildings. A lot of them look like they are about to fall over, seriously.
My lady and I visit Amsterdam at least 2 or 3 times a year. We love the place.
Get stoned, silly question. Probably also pass out as I am a bit of a lightweight.
canal boat tour is good so is going the ajax football ground and training facilities. best venues would be hill street blues never get tired of coming out of a coffe shop stoned that is next door to the cop station but watch out for the police mopeds outside i nearly fell over them also the watering hole bar/coffee shop/ hostel amazing beer and gr8 smoke and fun even though a crazed belgian solider did try to stab me there it was amazing
have fun lol
Get stoned for 48 straight hours.
i'd want an immediate lap dance, never been, but oh boy the stories i've heard
Not a big fan of Amsterdam but if you are stuck there for 2 nights then you can see most of the city in one day. I think the Reichsmuseum can kill an hour and it has some great paintings. You could try the Anne Frank House is Jordaan but get there early because the line ups are stupid. Near the Reichsmuseum you can go on the Heiniken Experience tour. I have to say that though I disapprove it is interesting to take a walk through the Red Light District. It is pretty much right in the middle of down town.
i've never been, but i want to go, i would buy a dutch lace hat (i collect hats), buy a pair of wooden shoes, check out the rembrandts stuff ( i love him)-also check out red light dist. just cause im curious, and of course smoke as much hashish and pot etc. that i could . i would try to see and do as much as i could, but i don't know if 2 days is enough for me to thoroughly enjoy and get my fill. good luck and have lotsa fun!
Take a tour around the canals with a boat, bicycle or by foot. Also do this in the evening. Visit some of the great musuems (Van Gogh, Rijks and Amsterdam historical). Every tourist goes to the Anne Frank House so be ready for an hour of queueing.

A lot of tourists go down to the red light district to see what's all the fuss about, but it's not worth your precious time if you're only there for a few days.

If you want to smoke some weed, go ahead but don't smoke so much that you miss out on this beautiful city!
