To see new things and learn about new cultures.

to broaden their horizons..
Tourism is the act of travel for the purpose of recreation and business, and the provision of services for this act. Tourists are people who are "travelling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited" (official UNWTO definition). The distance between these two places is of no significance.
A more comprehensive definition would be that tourism is a service industry, comprising a number of tangible and intangible components. The tangible elements include transport systems — air, rail, road, water and now, space; hospitality services — accommodation, foods and beverages, tours, souvenirs; and related services such as banking, insurance and safety and security. The intangible elements include: rest and relaxation, culture, escape, adventure, new and different experiences.
Many countries depend heavily upon travel expenditures by foreigners as a source of taxation and as a source of income for the enterprises that sell (export) services to these travellers. Consequently the development of tourism is often a strategy employed either by a Non-governmental organization (NGO) or a governmental agency to promote a particular region for the purpose of increasing commerce through exporting goods and services to non-locals.
Sometimes Tourism and Travel are used interchangeably. In this context travel has a similar definition to tourism, but implies a more purposeful journey.
The terms tourism and tourist are sometimes used pejoratively, implying a shallow interest in the societies and places that the tourist visits.
to see the world
To invade countries
because variety is the spice my friend and staying firmly rooted in one place isn't all that varied
To see, to learn to explore and to have a good time.
cause its nice to get away from home for a while
The same reason people do anything - the human mind craves stimulation.
Travel broadens your horizons, exposes you to a wider world of different natural scenery, history, cultures, customs, people, etc, etc. and provides much creaved stimulation without which many people's lives would stagnate.
Because they want to see something different to what's at home?!
I've been to some very far-flung places and paid through the nose for the priviledge, only to sit in a resort and wonder why I bothered taking two flights (one normally over 11 hours) just to go somewhere warmer. I don't even really like sunbathing.
I do it to please my wife I suppose.
because i have to travel once time at year
To wide up a little our narrow horizons! Travel, met new people, new places and new cultures can help us to be more cosmopolitan and open minded. I'll always recomend it!
because it's fun and interesting to see other countries and experience other cultures
To depart from point 'A' and arrive at point 'B'.
You spouse to travel so you could reflect on things i.e life other personal issues. It also helps one to change its everyday surroundings and see life from a different prospect. Travelling helps to understand other people that exists in this world it at times can make you humble when you come across other people in different countries living under the poverty line and still being brave and hopeful. Sadly travelling has become today a mere commodity where different corporates simply sell holiday packages to make money and to expose to yet another unhealthy life style i.e. free alcohol, undermining local cultures and tradition polluting our atmosphere. Travelling spouse to life our souls and be the source of nourishment to the mind, soul and body.
To broaden ones horizons. To help understand other people, other cultures, other needs and norms. To have fun, to ride on the top of a bus, and perhaps to help realise how lucky you are, that you can travel, and can survive without working for 2 weks or 2 months. It helped me realise how lucky i was, when i left a restaurant with half a bottle of 7 up and a half dressed kid of about 5 ran upto me (in india) with beaming eyes and a big smile looking at the bottle. I gave him the bottle he quickly drank some and then gave it to his friend who finished it off.
Travelling certainly mad me realise how my lows and misfortunes were incomparable to the issues facing some
to see different places and experience different cultures
well why not? it helps people understand different cultures. You must be a very small minded person if you dont want to travel out of your own town.
