Somehwere to stay in northern France?

Hi,
My family & I would like to spend a few nights in a farmhouse or similar in France (Normandy etc). We would be travelling by car via Eurotunnel and would not want a journey once in France of more than 2-3 hours.
Any suggestions of places or sites to find places welcomed -thanks
Steve

Previous answerer - it's spelt Bayeux!

I must say that I have never stayed in a Chambre d'Hote, which is what you are looking for! However, I do know of three excellent - and cheapish! - hotels (and children are welcome, but they are not child orientated, if that makes sense! the first, for example, has a playground in the back garden, the second took my son away for half an hour because we needed to eat our breakfast in peace - he was about 2! and the third was just excellent all round!)

This one is only around 15 minutes from the tunnel. It is very often full, you you need to book! Food is excellent! - and it is perfectly situated for a booze cruise!

It is close to a racing circuit!

This one was excellent (we went with my parents, my grandparents and my son and ordered lobster there before we went - and they rang us to ask how it should be cooked!)

If they are not suitable, try looking on the logis de france website - we have never been to a bad logis hotel! You can tell the website what you are looking for (they rate their hotels in chimneys!) and they will look for one that fits. all the hotels are clean and so on, and the food is good! If you need it in English, just click on the English/American flag at the top right hand of the site. When asking for an hotel, you can ask that English is spoken there.

I have also found a website for chambres d'hotes that you may find useful. It can also be in English, by clicking on the flag on the left hand side.

Have a great time!
Stay near Bayer and see the tapestry. You also have the Normandy Beeches and the war museums nearby. They are very interesting and show the events of the landings very well.
Also nice cliff top walks. There are plenty of Farmhouses for B&B and they advertise at the road side just like here.
whenever we went through the chunnel we drove to Trois on the first night.it is a lovely historic/modern town , i am sure there are farmhouses around the edge of it.
cottages4u.com on the P & O ferry website have plenty to choose from
