Has caravan holidays gone out of fashion now that package hols are so cheap?

Yes, the average british holiday costs more than a holiday abroad. Why would you want to pay more money to endure 2 weeks of rain, swimming in the filthy sea surrounding Britain when you could be enjoying 2 weeks of sunshine taking a dip in the crystal clear meditteranean? And you'd be paying twice as much for half the amount of drinks and food.
Why would you care whether it's in fashion? Either it's something you'd enjoy, or it's not.
yes where I live its got worse every year soon no1 will come here for a holiday especially as they have put up the council tax for chalet owners
no indeed not im just back from a package deal to a villa in lanzarote, im seriously contemplating a good old fashioned british caravan holiday for next year just have to talk my man into it though .lol.

I think caravan holidays have priced themselves out of the market, for the price of a two week holiday in summer (and you can't depend on the weather) you can get some good deals for abroad and get decent weather as well.
