Worst train operator running from london?
i say First Great Western Link running from london-reading/oxford. Totally useless
Answers:
It depends on how you define "worst"..In terms of performance, statistically First Great Western are the worst performing operator running out of a London termini.
Looking through some of the other responses, it strikes me that some of them havent been on a train for a while. "Connex" stopped running trains about 4 years ago in the UK. Whilst the operator which runs from Charing Cross to Maidstone etc. isn't South West Trains (they run out of Waterloo to South-West London, Portsmouth, Bournemouth etc.) it's actually called Southeastern and has been for the past 4 years or so.
i would say most of them
Virgin are the worst, you never get anywhere with them
Connex - wins hands down! In fact, are they still called Connex.?
They are all pretty poor - but what I hate are the toilets in the new Silverlink Trains - maybe they have them on other modern trains - they are disabled friendly with an electronic lock on the inside and I am SICK AND TIRED of sitting near the loo and some idiot forgets to lock the blooming door (easily done due to it being badly signed inside the loo) and then some innocent person needing to use the facility pushed the electronic opening only to totally reveal the bod inside. and if it is a man they stand facing the door and you get a view of them doing their business. and if it is a woman they have to stand to reach for the door.
Eeek..
I hate it. (I would like to add I have nothing against disabled friendly loos - just the way the locks work!)
The worst train operators running from London to the suburbs where most of us in the rat race live is actually South-West Trains that leave from Charing Cross. They go to places like Canterbury, Ashford, Tunbrige Wells, Maidstone etc.
But to be fair all of them are shockingly bad for the price of a ticket when you consider how many people go on the trains every day paying all that money! Where does it all go! I hate them all.. just drive mate, including the congestion charge it probably works out cheaper anyway!
Silverlink, who operate the suburban services out of Euston towards Watford. Badly lit and vandalized stations, filthy trains, highly unreliable, very expensive.
The sooner they loose their franchise to run the line, the better. They are hopeless.
Has to be Silverlink. They seem to stop at every station going, regardless of the time of day. They're cheap for a reason.
The trains that run to Ashford and Canterbury in the South East aint that bad anymore now the new networkers have moved out of the Chart Leacon depot, their home for what must've been a good 8 yrs! But they seem to be like gold dust - You're lucky if you get one.
