Some place special to you and your other half is always good. It can show them that you remember the special things like were you first kissed or where you went on your first date. You could even try to recreate your first date and then propose at the end of the night. Good luck on finding a place and Congrats

I proposed at the top of the Eiffel tower on Valentines day.
It wasn't very romantic as you might imagine, cos it was so goddam cold, we were both frozen to death and my wife had to say yes quickly so she could go back inside!
Too many do Eiffel Tower, Venice etc so I went for Benny Hill's party pub on a New Years Eve - classy I know. The truth is that it is all down to where you fancy and, more importantly, what you think will please her most. Where did you meet, where did you first make love, where did you have a special night out or take her to a country hotel and take a bottle of bubbly and a tub of white chocolate ice cream to your room - the world is your oyster!
My ideal place to be proposed to would be New York. It has everything glamour, shopping decadence and cent rel park is perfect.

In Venice in a gondola! This is were my fiance proposed me and i found it very hard to deny!
Another nice place is in the Greek island of Santorini during the sunset near the beach having opposite of you the wonderful view of the volcano!
I popped the question (very nervously) in a romantic little restaurant in Bruges - it was a highly memorable moment, if a little scary.
With hindsight, a less-compact restaurant might have been more advisable, but alls well that ends well!
