Women, if you were travelling abroad alone for holiday..which country would you go to?

Answers:
Italy & Turkey!!
greece and turkey
When I traveled out of the country by myself a few months ago I went to the US. There is every option available there. Great weather!
Anywhere in Europe
I wouldn't go alone I'd go with a friend all around the world !! ("p)
Personally it would have to be an English speaking country due to my lack of languages! I'd go to Australia, new zealand (again), America and Hawaii (Really want to go!) I personally would prefer to go with someone else, just because it would be more fun though.
I'm female and have spent time in Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Italy, Costa Rica, France, Spain and Turkey on my own. I probably wouldn't do Turkey or Greece again on my own (mainly because I don't speak either Turkish or Greek) but the rest were fine. Costa Rica is OK if you have some Spanish and you can get by with English in all the other places.
Australia or New Zealand are great as there is a good network or hostels in every town where you will meet fellow travellers.
I have been to India on my own and found it a bit tough ( not at al l dangerous but you just get hassled more). Also Africa with work on my own and agin would not recommend it for a relaxing holiday unless you are in a tour or with someone else.
Anywhere in Europe you should be fine; especially if you use a Rough Guide or a Lonely Planet to plan your accomodation.
I've traveled from Argentina's Patagonia region to the sands of Egypt, and I have to say the best countries for single females are those not in political strife (at the time of travel) and those that aren't predominantly Muslim (you tend to want to have someone with you in case their are problems in the smaller provinces).

Buenos Aires Argentina and the Upper Patagonia in Argentina are truly beautiful places - Buenos Aires is considered the "Paris" of the America's and happens to also be an extremely good bargain at the moment - due to their economic collapse in the late nineties. I'm talking 5-star accommodations for about $50.00 U.S. per night. It's a favorite right now due to the bargains - yet interesting and exotic enough to make it worth the trip.

Spain is also beautiful and easy to travel around - like another person mentioned, Europe is pretty easy/good. unless their is political strife. You just don't want to chance it alone.

Good luck finding your location!
I went alone to Trinidad and Tobago and had a glorious time. The people were very nice and very gracious. These islands are not dependent upon tourism so you don't see a hotel on every block and you don't feel as if it's a tourist trap. The beauty of Trinidad's rain forest is amazing and in Tobago the diving and snorkeling are absolutely great!
Italy...that's for sure !
Personally I wouldnt travel alone but - if I were Id go to a quieter resort - less lads likely to take advantage!!

Try alvor in Portugal or Afandou in Rhodes
