Has anyone been to Annapurna in the Himalayas? any recomendations?

Answers:
YES. It was awesome and probably the most memeorable place I went. I went on a 5 day trek - called the 'Royalty Trek' because it was supposed to be easy (for the Royalty of England?)- but it was hard anyway. I went with my 69 year old mom who made it! But completely georgeous, friendly people - totally great. You hike all day thru villages in the Annapurna Mountains, and spend nights in little hotels (little homes, dirty, out-houses etc.). Food is rice, noodles, veggies, and chickens (they actually killed the chicken for our meal when we ordered 'chicken'. It is for camping-type people and you need to be able to walk and hike - especially uphill. But 100% go - you will love it and it will be among the best things you can do in your life! If you don't plan ahead - you will find many tour guides / shops in Katmandu or Pokrah and arrange something there (it may take a few days to get a guide - so booking ahead is better).
No to both, sorry !!
Try to dig info in this regard in some Nepalese web site.
