What is the likely outcome of a charge for possession of less than 20 gms marijuana in Sanford by a UK nationa
Answers:
Punishable by death.
(just kidding) If you have no other offenses, you will probably be fined and put on probation.
Slap on the wrists and a fine probably
A caution
If i was judge, 10 years in nick..drugs of any description is unacceptable.
as long as you have no previous for that sort of thing
you will get a caution
Where is Sanford/? IS it in UK, if so, you will be given £50 out of the poor box and be told to be a good boy.
Meh, not much, probably a fine and a caution, why use grams, use imperial measurements! Like an 1/8 of a Oz, your part of England is odd.
If you are not a US CITIZEN & from Mexico it means deportatation. Current policy in California is zero tolerance. Dont take this this lightly GET A LAWYER. So you don't get Jacked!
Good luck!
If 20grams is about how much I think it is it depends on whether the judge accepts that it was for personal use or not.
If you've been charged at the police station and released to appear in court you'll get a fine but will probably get sort sort of community order as well. You'll only get a caution from the police if you're not charged to appear and they're not taking it any further.
Naughty boy
Do you mean Sanford in FL or is this somewhere in the UK?
If you're in the UK the outcome will be more or less nothing, marijuana in small amounts is pretty much legal at this point. You'll get a caution - the only question is whether it'll be an official or unofficial one. If it's the former it'll go on your record for a couple years before being expunged (but you still say 'no' if an employer asks if you have a criminal record). If they give you an unofficial caution that basically means nothing happens, they take your drugs and you leave.
If you're in the US it's a much bigger deal. If you're not a US citizen the eventual result will almost certainly be deportation with a ban on re-entering. I doubt you'll get a custodial sentence, especially as a foreign national, they'll probably give you a suspended sentence and a fine, then boot you out - tho you may have to spend a couple days in county jail before a bail hearing depending on how backed-up the jurisdiction is. If you're in the US and this happens, you DEFINITELY need to get a lawyer.
What Were You Thinking...I hope you get everything that you deserve! When in another country , play by the rule book and don't act the idiot.
Sorry - but what do you expect?
