Beautiful UK spots for a weekend away?

I'm looking for idyllic England! I want to go away for the weekend for a romantic break - anyone know any truly lovely places? If it's also good for long dog walks, so much the better.
.And if you also know a gorgeous place to stay - even better still!

We have stayed at and enjoyed:
The Yorkshire coast. There is a lovely counrty house hotel called Wrea Head about 15 miles north of Scarborough. We had our wedding there. It is miles away from a chain hotel, like something out of Agatha Christie all wood panneling and gazebos in the garden. The food is stunning and staff ( who have been ther for years) really helpful. A four poster bed room there won't blow your budget

In Oxford which is a great city for just wondering around the old town or by the river, Malmaison have just opened an interesting hotel which is in the old prison. Alsp The Bank in Oxford is a nice boutique hotel with good food and very central. Dog walks on the commons or by the rivers.

Lake District.
Robin Hoods Bay
try the crown in southwold suffork, you will find everthing there is just great! long walks both inland and along the coast, it works for my wife and i and our dogs.
The Cotswolds is a lovely area for a romantic break full of charming little villages and pubs where you can have a gourmet meal while sitting by a roaring log fire.
There is also many fields and wooded walks available and also a wide variety of lakes you can walk round

The Cotswolds are a brilliant place to stay for romance, as there are lots of lovely little cottages and cafes there. I've been to Chipping Campden loads of times. There is a small rectory there that you can stay in overnight.

Alternatively, think Yorkshire. Richmond is fantastic, and there are lots of pleasant walks around the area.
lake district is gorgeous. and what more can you ask for your dog? miles and miles of dog friendly walks!
Cromer, Hemsby, etc. on the Norfolk coast are very nice.
The best places Ive been to have got to be Appleby in cumbria lake windermere, borth in wales or weymss bay in ayrshire.

Hope you have a nice time!
