What is Biarritz like on New Year's Eve?
going there for a few days, what goes on, where should I go out in the evening

Biarritz is beautifal i've always dreamt about returning there, the beach is always lively no matter what and spain is only half hours drive away with great view and san sebastien about another half hours drive from the border. Bang on the border there is a small market village called Irun which is great for cheap fags, booze and gifts. I went to a small village near Biarritz called Guethary and every night there was a bar with live music and cheapish drinks and a great view of the beach. All the supermarkets around there sell bottles and cartons of wine dirt cheap as its made locally (i recall a certain bottle being only 1.9Francs which is 19p) but the bus service around there sucks and cabs are pretty expensive so its best to hire a car or something.
There is a great beach about 20 mins drive away called St Jean De Luz and its usually hot and loads of english tourists and alot of shops in the town centre.
