Travel round the m25 clockwise on the inside lane what is the difference in miles 2 travel on the outside lane

obviously all the way round

Answers:
ive driven all the way around, in both directions (i study architecture at an arts uni and did it for an essay)

its about 2/3 miles, but its easier to travel on the outside lane (clockwise) due to it being longer and less of a curve. in my opinion, also im right handed.
it should be very little
Haven't a clue but am just acknowledging a frickin great question!
Let's assume that the M25 is (roughly) circular.

The circumference of a circle is 2 x pi x radius.

If the inside and outside lanes are, say, 10 metres apart on average (sometimes there are 3 lanes, sometimes 4, say 4m per lane), then travelling in the slow lane (clockwise) would produce a circle with a radius 10 metres bigger than in the fast lane, so the circumference would be 2 x pi x 10 = c.63 metres longer.

That's roughly 4 hundredths of a mile.
Allowing for bends to the right and left it works out to be exactly rthe same mileage whichever lane you are in.
Plagurised from another site - - - - - "I have just assumed that the M25 is circular (which it isn't) and used rd's figure of a circumference of 117 miles measured along the centre of the centre reserve. Assuming that it is 3 lane motorway the whole way (which it isn't) the carriageway width is 3 x 3.65m (3.65m per lane) and we will assume the centre reserve is 3m wide. This gives a centre line to rumble edge line distance of 12.5 m. The difference in length of each rumble strip, based on these assumptions, is 78.54metres, or about 5 articulated lorry lengths. "
23 metres further
Using the following assumptions
Diameter of motorway is 60km
Motorway is circular
3 lanes
lane width 3.65m therefore difference in centreline of outside lane to centre line of inside lane is 7.3 m
apologies for working it out in metric, your question did ask for an answer in miles, but metric is easier
