Holiday in Galicia?
Me & my family live in Galicia (Northen Spain) and have been asked by a local hotelier to promote, to the English, holidays here. We have a selection of accommodation to offer. Our website shoud be up and running soon. Has anyone tried to find info. on holidays in Galicia and how easy have you found it, and how many would be interested in holidaying here?

Galicia is great.
Good: Santiago and the camino; castros; sea, sand and surf; fish and shellfish; bread; wine; folk music; octopus pie; local food markets etc.
Bad: The rubbish dump at the view point over the rias and locals in cars.
well, i went there with a spanish speaking friend of mine 3 years ago. the problem was, that i couldn't find any IT info in english
all was in spanish.
and people there didn't speak english too
however it is fantastic, and i think it is one of the most "virgin" areas left in spain. u should promote this

It depends which part of Galicia. My partner has a house in Villalba, near Lugo, and its a nightmare getting there. The flights to La Coruna are more expensive and then you need to travel onwards from there. If you fly to Madrid you have to hire a car or take the train which takes hours. And if you go by ferry, it is even more expensive the sailings are very costly and there is petrol on top. Having said that the beaches are the best in Spain and the food is to die for.Another thing is, if you don't speak Spanish, it is very hard for anyone going, because they don't speak English and nothing is written in English.
